About the project:
The centre is a not-for-profit Spanish school and eco-hotel in Nicaragua that promotes sustainable environmental- and community-based tourism.
The foundation runs multiple projects in the area, including reforestation, literacy and homework tutoring, a health clinic and a mobile animal clinic for rescued wildlife and domestic animals. They also run an organic garden and a centre for families and children with disabilities, as well as empowering women through the Manos Virtuosas Cooperative Bakery.
What you’ll be doing:
Interns are needed to help across all our projects. Whichever project you choose, we’ll ask you to do four hours’ voluntary work per day. You are welcome to try out more than one placement, but interns are required to stay at each placement for at least one week before moving on.
You’ll also get 20 hours of formal Spanish classes (focusing on grammar and conversation) per week, in small classrooms with a maximum of three students per teacher.
Throughout your visit, you’ll either stay in a homestay with a local family, or in one of our dormitories.
