About the project:
The center is a registered not-for-profit organization that provides free after-school education for the children in the Gianyar village in Bali, Indonesia. Balinese and expat volunteers work together to provide programmes in English, computer science, environmental awareness, yoga, traditional Balinese dance and more. Several extra classes are based on student hobbies – such as cooking, music and sports – and the centre also offers a leadership and organisation programme.
As well as providing these children with the skills to enter the workforce and to build careers in the tourism industry, the centre hopes to instil self-confidence, entrepreneurship and respect for their local community and environment.
What you’ll be doing:
We need volunteers to get involved in all areas of our project – from teaching English to running day-care to working in our organic garden.
We also run a family programme, so those who wish can bring their children along to the project. It’s a great opportunity for kids from both cultures to experience different ways of life.
Desired skills:
Just bring your enthusiasm!
