About the project:
We are based in Intag, a bio-diverse sub-tropical region of northern Ecuador. Alarmed by the rate the forest was being cut down for profit, the organisation was set up to provide locals with an alternative, sustainable source of income and to help raise awareness of the local environment amongst visitors. Surrounded by waterfalls and forests, guests at the project have the opportunity to participate in rural life, as well as try their hands at horse-riding, basket-making, sugar production, sisal extraction, and cheese-making.
What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for native or fluent English speakers who can teach the language in rural schools, where pupils range from 5 to 18 years of age. We also need hands-on help on small, local farms.
Desired skills:
Basic Spanish is recommended, although classes will be available at the project.
