European Ecological Working Camps

Founded in 1992, the association has two aims :

  • the organisation and realisation of voluntary ecological working camps to preserve and restore the naturals habits
  • to train and make its members aware of its actions and of discovery of the natural habitat

The actions undertaken by the association are based on soft techniques of management of environment according to the aims by the managers of these sites. Different types of actions taken on those sites can vary from : the digging of ponds for amphibians, the weeding of exotic plants, the softening of the riverside, the plantation of hedges, the cleaning of ditches.

The association offers tree types of camps : a one-day camp on Saturdays or Sundays, a week-end camp on Saturdays and Sundays, a holiday camp from a few days to two weeks.

 

Role of Volunteer


Volunteers join work camps which could last 1 day or 1 month.  Work camps involve maintenance work in nature reserves - habitat restoration, trail blazing, building boardwalks and visitor centres.
