This independent non-profit-making organisation, staffed mainly by volunteers, aims to make as wide an audience as possible aware of the importance of safeguarding the environment.

We select and send volunteers to local volunteer organisations all over the world.

Our objectives :

·          To support local organisations in both developing and executing their schemes of nature conservation.

·          To promote and encourage positive actions taken by man that improve his local natural environment.

·          To make man (re) discover the beauty of his environment and of his planet.

Our Positioning :

We position ourselves as a link between volunteers and scientists or natural sites managers.   We select and prepare volunteers before assigning them to a project. During an assignment, volunteers are monitored by local staff to ensure a high quality result for the assignment.

Many projects that concern the conservation of natural habitats are eligible for selection by our organisation for offers of assistance by its staff and volunteers.

In 2001, we supported the following missions : Bird Migration Camps (Costa Rica, Israel, France), Turtle Health Centres (France, Senegal), Sea Turtles Survey project (Costa Rica, Greece), Bonelli's Eagle protection (Portugal), Natural site maintenance (Australia) etc.

Role of Volunteer

In the field, the volunteers are welcomed and trained by specialists in the local organisation of
research or conservation.

We have positions in:
- protection of black grouse in the french Alps (August and September)
- monitoring of birds in the french Pyrénées (August to October)
- monitoring of marine turtles in Greece and Costa Rica
- monitoring of vulture and biodiversity in Croatia and Israël
- protection of Iguanas in Honduras.

Volunteers are involved in different kinds of works, for example :
- manual work for the management of natural sites,
- monitoring and observing protected species,
- collecting scientific data,
- welcoming and informing the local population and visitors.

We expect the volunteers to be aware :
-that the mission they are assigned to is to be taken seriously,
- that living conditions are often rudimentary,
- that living in a group requires a sharing attitude of mind i.e preparing meals, cleaning,
sleeping in dormitories, etc.
