Teach English in Tibet

Minimum Period: 6 months

A residential school for 150 orphans aged 5 - 20 in a market town in East Tibet, Qinghai Province, China. This is a unique project supported by international humanitarian funds providing a Tibetan-medium education.

Role of Volunteer

English Teacher

Volunteers have to be able to work without support, be very self sufficient, resilient and fit for extreme conditions. Some other opportunities to teach also occasionally arise at other Tibetan projects including a monks' college and a girls' school.

Cost

Free food and accommodation. It costs approximately UK£20 to travel from Beijing or Xining to the site.
