The Cosmic Academy is an early childhood development center that provides nursery and kindergarten level classes to children 2 to 5 years old on weekdays. An experienced Ghanaian teacher established it. Currently about 40 children from the surrounding neighborhoods attend the center. It is located on a 4 acre plot of land in Amafro, a developing suburb of Ghana's capital Accra, near the main road leading to Cape Coast. Volunteers stay at either a bedroom at the school or with a local family. There is currently no electricity or running water and toilets are sanitary squatting style. Bucket baths and lanterns are the norm.
Role of Volunteer
- Teach nursery and/or kindergarten classes
- Organize games and activities for the children

Cost
US $350 the first month and $100 for each month thereafter. This cost includes a donation to the school, food, and accommodation.
