A day trip that’s not to be missed, this Kuala Selangor tour includes a visit an organic farm, where you’ll make your own pizza, a tour of the mangrove forests, where you’ll help plant trees, a seafood dinner at sunset and, of course, the famous fireflies cruise.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

10am: Hotel pick-up in Kuala Lumpur

12pm: You’ll visit Kebun Kaki Bukit organic farm and have a chance to chat to the inspiring volunteers that work here. You’ll get to try some fresh juice and create your own organic pizza.

3pm: Next up is a tour of the Kuala Selangor mangrove forests, led by a youth group set up by UM Cares (University Malaysia Cares). They started hosting mangrove tours in January 2016 as a way to promote awareness and conservation of the forests.

6pm: You’ll take in the sunset over a delicious sunset dinner.

8.30pm: Once night falls, you’ll head back to the mangrove forest for a boat tour while all the fireflies are out to play. Once your tour finishes, the team will take you back to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur – or they can drop you off at a local homestay at the nearby rice fields.
