Ethical dilemmas in nursing are thus common and present an unsteady balance between the primary interest of looking after patients and the second interest of remaining consistent with professional standards. Therefore, it is logical that nurses often find themselves in tricky situations at a crossroads with conflicting principles of autonomy for the patient, beneficence, and justice. Indeed, such dilemmas require thoughtful moral reasoning with empathy toward sound, ethically justified decisions. Such complexities are due to an in-depth understanding of the ethical guiding frameworks and a commitment to compassionate care. After reading the case studies and ethical principles, nursing students will have acquired the critical thinking skills to write my assignments for nursing students. During this process, they will also be able to develop skills to balance the needs of patients with the ethical responsibility to develop a culture of integrity and empathy in healthcare.
